For vehicle owners, service providers and visitors

Privacy Policy

Last updated 4 October 2026. Version 2026-10-04.2.

This policy explains what personal data Veecu collects, why, who it's shared with, how long it's kept and the rights you have under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA).

1. Who we are

Quanta Global Tech Ltd. (RC 2011263), 2-7 Tinuola Close, Akowonjo, Lagos, Nigeria, which operates Veecu, is the data controller for personal data processed through the Veecu app and website. Contact us about privacy and data protection at compliance@myveecu.com.

2. What we collect

  • Account details: name, email, phone number, password (stored by our sign-in service in protected form), time zone.
  • Vehicle details: plate number, make, model, year, type, mileage, VIN, chassis and engine numbers, colour and registered vehicle owner, as you enter them or as read from documents you upload.
  • Documents and photos you upload, such as vehicle licences, insurance certificates, roadworthiness certificates, and photos of problems or finished work.
  • Service requests: descriptions, service address and area, preferred times, quotes, bookings, messages with Veecu support, disputes, reviews.
  • Payments: amounts, status and references from our payment partner. We do not receive or store full card numbers.
  • For service providers: business name, CAC number, address, services, service areas, verification documents and payout records.
  • Device and usage data: sign-in records, IP address, device type, push-notification tokens and error logs, used to keep the Service secure and working.

3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To provide the Service you asked for: matching requests, quotes, payments, payouts, reminders and support (performance of a contract).
  • To read documents and check quotes automatically, including with artificial intelligence, so you get expiry dates and fair prices (performance of a contract and our legitimate interests). Automated checks don't make final decisions about you; Veecu staff do.
  • To keep the Service safe: preventing fraud, verifying service providers, keeping audit records of staff actions (legitimate interests and legal obligations).
  • To meet legal duties, such as tax, accounting and responding to lawful requests from authorities (legal obligation).
  • To send service messages by email, push and in the app. Marketing messages are sent only with your consent, and you can stop them at any time.

4. Who we share it with

  • Service providers: when a service provider quotes on your request they see your vehicle and the problem, not your name or contact details. When you book them, they see your first name, the plate number and the service address. They never get your phone number.
  • Vehicle owners see a service provider's business name, rating and reviews.
  • Our processors, under contracts that require them to protect your data: Supabase (database and sign-in), Render and Netlify (hosting), Paystack (payments), Brevo (email), Google Firebase (push notifications) and our AI service providers (document reading and quote checks).
  • Authorities, courts or regulators when the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
  • A buyer or successor if Veecu's business is sold or merged, with this policy continuing to apply.
  • We do not sell personal data.

5. Transfers outside Nigeria

Some of our processors store or process data outside Nigeria. We transfer data only where the NDPA allows it, using adequacy decisions, contractual safeguards or other approved mechanisms, and we choose providers with strong security.

6. How long we keep it

  • Account and vehicle data: while your account is open. When you close it, we keep it securely and out of use for up to 12 months in case the law requires it, or longer if it is needed for a legal case, investigation or dispute, then delete it.
  • Bookings, payments, payouts and invoices: 6 years, for tax and accounting.
  • Uploaded documents: until you delete them, or up to 12 months after you close your account, then deleted.
  • Security and audit logs: up to 2 years.

7. Your rights

  • Ask for a copy of your personal data, and have it corrected or completed.
  • Ask us to delete it, or to restrict or stop certain uses, where the law allows.
  • Receive your data in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
  • Object to decisions made only by automated means.
  • Complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (ndpc.gov.ng). We'd like the chance to help first: email compliance@myveecu.com. We reply within 30 days.
  • You can close your account from Account in the app. Payment records are kept for 6 years for tax.

8. Security

We protect data with encryption in transit, access controls, staff sign-in through company Google accounts with two-step verification, and audit logs of staff actions. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach puts your rights at risk, we notify you and the Commission as the law requires.

9. Children

Veecu is not for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect children's data.

10. Cookies and local storage

We use essential browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your settings and let the app work offline. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

11. Changes

If we change this policy significantly we tell you in the app and ask you to agree before continuing. The date and version are shown at the top.
